Luise’s trajectory: Munich–Salford–Bonn–London–Zurich
Born in Berlin, Luise is a certified translator with a Master of Arts in Translating. Her career to date has seen her progress through a range of roles in the language services sector, ranging from proofreader to global vendor manager. And having worked for a variety of companies including IMIG Institut für Marktforschung im Gesundheitswesen (an institute engaging in market research in the healthcare sector), Deutsche Telekom, CLS Communication (now renamed Lionbridge Switzerland AG) and Allianz Suisse, she brings with her a wealth of industry experience.
Luise has remained a globetrotter at heart with a fondness for other cultures. Prior to dropping her professional anchor in Lake Lucerne four years ago, her home ports have included London and Manchester. “I like the British way of life, their humour and their engaging courtesy.”
Novels and menus on the reading list
Aside from England, Luise has a soft spot for Japan with its Zen Buddhist gardens, megacities and delectable cuisine. Generally speaking, her favourite voyages of discovery are those involving gastronomy – ideally back in her home country. She herself is particularly fond of baking, one of her specialities being a cake featuring Toffifee caramel confectionery: you don’t know whether to laugh or eat it!
