We worked hard for this piece of paper

The third certificate in Apostroph Switzerland’s collection is in the bag. Swiss Safety Center AG has awarded us the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification in recognition of the way we develop and operate our proprietary software solutions – ERP (APOS), online portal myAPOSTROPH, freelancer portal myFREELANCE, connectors and interfaces. It means we’re applying our information security management system (ISMS) in a professional manner.

Everyone at Apostroph knew it was going to be an intense time – after all, the ISO 27001 certification meant we were aiming for maximum information security. The IT Services division of the Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich gained its certification in 2016. Its website says inter alia: the ISO/IEC 27001 standard formulates requirements for an information security management system that go far beyond mere IT security.

Our first step involved choosing a partner to help us prepare for certification. Having shortlisted a number of potential providers, Apostroph’s management settled on SIDLER Information Security GmbH. It’s managed by Wolfgang Sidler, who enjoys international recognition for his expertise in the field of information security. Setting off alongside him on the certification marathon: our CEO Philipp Meier and our Group Head of Operations (and CISO) Karin Heinzer-Achermann. The process saw us implement the following package of measures:

  • Professional expansion of our existing security organisation

  • End-to-end revision of our in-house information protection rules and ICT systems

  • Classification of all relevant information, applications, ICT systems, information processing procedures and venues

  • Comprehensive staff awareness-raising and training activities

Security expert Wolfgang Sidler remains available to us in the event we need to call on his valuable services at short notice.
