Everything standard or what?

I’m sure you know the same thing: certain words are often misspelled. But you know exactly how to spell that word correctly. And that’s exactly why this spelling mistake always catches your eye.

Standard or standard? The former is correct. There is no standard with a “t” in the German language. This means that it must always be called Standard with a soft “d.” Apparently, many people find it so difficult to spell this word correctly, because phonetically no distinction can be made.

Unfortunately, to google such words is of little use, because worldwide the word has already been spelled very often and therefore many hits are available. Correct hits on incorrect content, of course.
